The British Society for Surgery of the Hand is the information and education body for Hand Surgery in the UK. The site contains information for patients on numerous disorders and injuries of the hand and wrist.
Handcare is the patient resource of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. There are excellent animations of hand anatomy as well as information on common hand conditions.
Since 2013, Mr. Gidwani has been on yearly trips with his senior colleague, Donald Sammut, to treat patients with paralysis of the hands due to leprosy. Working Hands Charity runs yearly visits to Lalgadh Leprosy Hospital, in the Terai region of Nepal.
Mr. Gidwani is one of the founding members of this private orthopaedic group, at one of London’s leading private hospitals. In 2013, with colleague Mr Owen-Johnstone, he also initiated the Upper Limb monthly multidisciplinary meetings, useful for the discussion of complex cases, which are attended by Surgeons, Radiologists and Therapists.
